As a subsidiary of SOGENA, the SAWMILL OF BLAINVILLE located in the port area of Caen, was founded in 1965 in order to strengthen the port as a major importer of tropical wood both logs and saw timber.

Thanks to its location, the BLAINVILLE SAWMILL has been able to create a synergy with the port operator SOGEMAR, thus enhancing discharging operations of vessels together with handling and transformation in the same perimeter of activities.

  • A medium size sawmill for local logs ans timbers
  • A new modern sawmill (PRIMULTINI) : boules of tropical logs up to 2 meters of diameter
• Drying kilns : capacity of chambers 800 m³ per cycle
• Steam drying : chamber of 70 m³
